The property the Texas Agricultural Heritage and Education Center is located on has been farmed since the 1850's when German settlers came to Texas.
At the present time, the land is farmed by Wilfred and Betty Bartoskewitz, who are fifth generation farmers. The Bartoskewitz family has donated the land for the center, plus built and donated the main building in the complex, "The Big Red Barn."
